Coopers’ Park playground and sport court are closed while Cambie Street Bridge upgrades are underway.
Park renewal work is expected to resume in spring 2028, once the bridge upgrades are complete. Renewal plans were developed through 2 rounds of public engagement to improve amenities in Coopers’ Park.
Cambie Street Bridge work – park impacts
The playground and sport court are closed. The washroom and dog off-leash area remain open.
The sport court is expected to reopen in spring 2028. The playground will remain closed to allow for improvement work as part of the Coopers’ Park renewal project.
Nearby alternative playgrounds and sport courts are available at Emery Barnes, David Lam, Andy Livingstone, and Creekside parks. A map showing alternative locations is posted on signage around the park.
Completed improvements
In 2024, the Park Board completed renewal work on the dog off-leash area (OLA) in Coopers' Park.
- A separate area for small and/or shy dogs
- 2 water stations
- Splinter-free wood chip surfacing
- Grassy area with trees for shade
- Accessible pathways with added seating
In 2023, we opened a new washroom in Coopers’ Park, in support of the Park Board’s Washroom Strategy PDF file (3.5 MB), which aims to deliver safe, clean, and accessible washroom facilities to enhance the park experience for all.
