The Bright Nights Train is back on the rails for 2023

We appreciate your overwhelming enthusiasm for the Bright Nights train tickets. More than 17,000 tickets were sold in under an hour! We understand that this may be disappointing for some, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Holiday lights and activities

While the train tickets have sold out, the holiday lights display and activities in the plaza will still be open and are free.

Festival of Lights tickets available

Looking for other holiday event options? VanDusen Festival of Lights is open from November 24 to January 7 (closed December 25), and tickets are still available.

Bundle up the family and join us for a holiday experience like no other, as our iconic 1961 locomotive once again winds its way through the magical Stanley Park forest, alight with thousands of sparkling lights. Kids of all ages will cherish memories of riding the Bright Nights Train for years to come.

Stroll through the plaza to enjoy even more lights, whimsical displays, and the crowd-pleasing vintage fire truck. Make sure you check out the live entertainment on your way to the North Pole workshop, where you can snap a pic with Santa and his fire fighter friends.

BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund

A favourite holiday tradition for the community and fire fighters alike, Bright Nights is also the single largest fundraiser for the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund , which provides life-saving, life-supporting, and life-enriching services to burn survivors and their families from across the province.

The Park Board has donated more than $2.5 million to the Burn Fund since Bright Nights began in 1998

50/50 tickets

Bright Nights 50/50 raffle tickets are on sale now. Half of the jackpot supports the Burn Fund’s programming for burn survivors and their families.

50/50 tickets do not provide access to the Bright Nights Train.

Other ticketing considerations

To access the Leisure Access Program (LAP) rate, LAP participants can call the Stanley Park Train office at 604-257-8530 between Tuesday to Friday 9am to 4pm with your valid LAP card details to receive a one-time code to purchase a maximum of 6 tickets. Subject to ticket availability.
Due to equipment constraints, the train is not able to accommodate wheelchairs at this year’s Bright Nights event. For future events, the train will have an accessible carriage for passengers in wheelchairs.

Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be re-sold. Tickets from sources other than our website may be lost, stolen, or counterfeit, and if so, are void. Know before you go
- Tickets are sold online. Book a designated time slot for your train ride in advance. Passengers must be at the train station 15 minutes in advance of their scheduled ride.
- Passengers must ride at their scheduled time. Due to capacity constraints, we cannot accommodate visitors who wish to delay their rides or large groups who wish to be seated together.
- We know that there are sometimes circumstances that can cause visitors to be late for their ride. We will do our best to accommodate latecomers on the next train with availability, but there is no guarantee of seating.
- This event is outdoors and runs rain or shine.
- Have your tickets printed out or ready on your mobile device for scanning at the train station.
- Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
Food and beverage

We’re happy to welcome back our amazing food vendors to the plaza this year. You’ll be able to partake of your favourite savoury snacks and holiday treats.

Reindeer Roadstop

The roadstop will be on the plaza to keep you fuelled with hot chocolate and classic grab-and-go snacks like churros, pretzels, and seasonal sweets.

Insomniac’s Coffee

Serving up their specialty coffee concoctions and herbal teas for moms and dads.

The Praguery food truck

Featuring mouth-watering Chimney Cakes – traditional rolled and baked to order pastries with a range of toppings and fillings.

Potato Tornado food truck

Enjoy hot and crispy potato tornados and mac and cheese bites.

The CobHouse

Grab a bag of hot buttered organic popcorn and support the Stanley Park Ecology Society.

Accessibility, stroller, and pets informaton
Accessibility
- Any visitors requiring an attendant to experience the train ride must contact Showpass to purchase tickets. Attendants ride for free.
- The plaza and farmyard are wheelchair accessible.
- Due to equipment constraints, the train is not able to accommodate wheelchairs at this year’s Bright Nights event. For future events, the train will have an accessible carriage for passengers in wheelchairs.
Strollers
- Stroller parking is available at the train station
Pets
- On-leash dogs are permitted inside the train site, but not on the train. Only certified service animals are permitted on the train.
- Staff are unable to mind your pets while you are on the train.
- If you choose to bring your dog to the event, make sure that you have someone in your group who can stay with your canine companion while you are enjoying your train ride.
