Rental rates
Booking times and rates vary throughout the week. All rates are subject to change. A 12% discount is offered to registered non-profit organizations for events held Monday through Thursday. To receive the non-profit discount, a copy of the non-profit certificate must be provided by the renter before the booking.
For any 2026 bookings, the 2026 operating hours and rental rates have not been established yet. If you wish to confirm a 2026 booking not knowing the operating hours, a non-refundable reservation fee is required at the time of booking and the 2025 rates can be secured if the outstanding balance is paid for by December 5, 2025.
Booking confirmation
A minimum of 2 weeks (10 business days) advance booking is required. A reservation fee of $500 plus GST, is required to confirm a booking. Bookings that provide less than 2-weeks notice are charged an additional last-minute booking fee of $160 plus GST. These amounts are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. Full payment is due 2 months in advance of the scheduled booking and no refunds are provided for events cancelled within 60 days of the scheduled booking.
Site amenities
This picturesque setting is wheelchair accessible. Pay parking is available throughout Queen Elizabeth Park that is operated by Easy Park. Seasons in the Park Restaurant is also a short walk away adjacent to the look-out point near the main entrance.
Capacities
These include the use of the outdoor back patio area of the Pavilion:
- For indoor, lecture style seating, we can accommodate a maximum of 100 people.
- For indoor, seated receptions, we can accommodate a maximum of 48 people.
- For indoor, standing cocktail reception, we can accommodate a maximum of 65 people.
Included in the rental
The facility is setup with 40 silver chiavari chairs on either side of a carpeted aisle (your choice in colour of either red or black). The Pavilion is adorned with silk flowers (your choice in colour of 2 options, either red and green or blush, lavender, and white). The silk floral pieces are at the stage and on the chairs along the aisle. Included is also a linen covered signing table and use of a speaker system with auxiliary input. If the renter wishes to have fewer chairs out or arranged differently, it is the responsibility of the renter to manage this set up and take down within their rental timeframe.
Setup, takedown and garbage
Due to weight restrictions, no vehicles are permitted on the fountain plaza near the Pavilion. Everything must be walked or trolleyed to the Pavilion from the upper parking lot. Renters are responsible for their own set up and take down within their booking timeframe and all items must be delivered and picked up within the rental time. Nothing can be brought in earlier or left for a later pickup. Facility staff cannot accept deliveries or assist with pickups upon the client's behalf. Should the renter wish to use flower petals, they must be real and cleaned up by the end of the booking. Garbage and recycling should be properly sorted into 4-stream waste bins located on site. Any additional garbage should be bagged and left next to the bins at the end of the event.
Items not permitted in or outside of the Celebration Pavilion
No candles, sparklers, SPFX, torches, mist, fog, foam or smoke machines, artificial floral petals, confetti, bubbles, balloons, and no chemicals of any kind, as these are harmful to the wildlife and the sensitive ecosystem of the surrounding area of the Pavilion.
Music
An Entandem fee required if live or pre-recorded music is played. This is a music royalty tariff for all rentals with music; pricing to be determined dependent on rental group size, type of music, activity; with or without dancing.
Wi-Fi
The facility has free Wi-Fi accessibility, however as it is a public network, there is no guarantee that the signal will be strong enough for video conferencing style events. It can be accessed on the #VanWiFi network and no password is required.
Receptions
No food or beverage are permitted on or near our facility unless booked as a reception booking. If this is a reception booking, no food or beverage are permitted in the arbour areas surrounding the facility. Bottled water is permitted. Make sure that all bottles are picked up and placed in recycling bins or taken with you before the end of your event. A detailed itinerary of delivery, setup, service and takedown along with vendor contact information is required at least 3 weeks (15 business days) before a reception event. Information icon Tables, outdoor chairs or potable water are not available on site. A special occasion license is required for any reception events serving alcohol.
Tents
Should the renter wish to have a rain cover for the event, advance discussion is required with the Celebration Pavilion rentals department. It is the responsibility of the renter to organize tenting through an external vendor. The patio area is 9 metres by 9 metres (30 feet by 30 feet). No staking is permitted – tents must be weighted down.
Liability insurance
All events require liability insurance with the “City of Vancouver and its Board of Parks and Recreation” named as additional insured. $2 million in liability coverage is required. If permitted and you will be serving alcohol, a copy of the special event license is required by and the liability insurance will need to be $5 million in coverage. Information icon If you are serving alcohol, it is not permitted beyond the building of the Celebration Pavilion with your liquor license. No food or beverage is permitted in the arbour areas surrounding the facility.
Wedding rehearsals
For booked events that wish to arrange a rehearsal, further discussion is required with the Celebration Pavilion rental department. Depending on availability, a 1-hour rehearsal can be booked Monday to Thursday between 9am and 4pm, with the last timeslot being 3pm. An additional fee of $293 per hour plus GST will apply for any rehearsal booking outside of Monday to Thursday and statutory holidays, or the rental department office hours. Two weeks advance booking is required. Rehearsals will be granted based on availability, but the time or date may need to be changed if there is a last-minute booking.
Photography
Photography can take place inside or outside of the Pavilion within your rental time and throughout Queen Elizabeth Park. It is however, strictly prohibited to enter plant beds.
Drones
Drone photography and videography is not permitted on site. Make sure your photographers are aware of this prior to your event.
Smoking
No smoking or vaping permitted on premises.
Animals
Pets are not permitted. Working guide and service dogs are welcome.
