In June 2017, we created a low-cost neighbourhood plaza at the Union-Vernon-Adanac intersection. It’s a place to sit, hang out, and watch the world roll by.
The public space was made possible by a cycling improvement upgrade to the Union-Adanac Corridor PDF file (2 MB), the busiest east-west bike route in the city.
The plaza features seating, a ping-pong table, and a skate spot. We will seek local stakeholders and residents to get involved in the space over time to foster a sense of community ownership. A permanent design may be considered along with street network changes in the False Creek Flats.
If you would like to learn more or get involved in this space contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
