Main-14th Plaza construction

The temporary neighbourhood plaza at Main Street and East 14th Avenue is becoming a permanent fixture. It will offer a welcoming public space for community connection and events for years to come.

With strong community support for neighbourhood plazas, we’ll continue turning more temporary spaces into permanent spaces in the coming years.

What's happeningPlaza construction will begin in late summer 2025

While construction of the permanent plaza is underway, a temporary parklet will be available on the opposite (west) side of Main Street and East 14th Avenue. Review map for details

Plaza stewardship partnerships

Once a plaza is designed and built, there’s a need to plan for how this space will be cared for on an on-going basis. We do this through plaza stewardship partnerships. These partnerships, in combination with public feedback, aim to make sure the plazas are welcoming, accessible, and inclusive.

This plaza is cared for by the Mount Pleasant BIA .
