Traffic impacts

Ongoing lane reductions remain in place in the area on Main St, Terminal Ave, and Quebec St. Expect delays and plan alternate routes.

Next Steps

Further investigation and repairs to start in late October

Crews continue to respond to a sewer leak on Terminal Ave between Main St and Quebec St while preparations and planning for the upcoming repairs are underway.

The bypass system, which allows sewage to flow around a section of the pipe that requires assessment and repairs, is now operational and the bypass installation work is complete. This has eliminated the need for pumper trucks.

Crews will begin investigation and repair work in late October. They will first excavate around the leak locations to assess the damaged pipe, determine the extent of repairs needed, and fix the pipe. This work is expected to take several months, and possibly longer, depending on the scale of repairs. Pumper trucks may be used temporarily to assist with the excavations.

During this work, traffic interruptions and intermittent noise are expected. No sewer service impacts are expected.
