  Traffic

  From August 22 to 27: 

  • Traffic lanes will be reduced on Oak Street with at least 1 lane remaining open in each direction. Through-traffic along West 70th Avenue may be restricted at the intersection. 

  Ongoing impacts until spring 2025:

  • Traffic lanes will be reduced to 2 lanes in each direction on Oak Street during the day time. Traffic lanes will be reduced to 1 lane southbound and 2 lanes northbound on Oak Street during night work (8pm to 5am). 
  • Some street and lane closures may be in effect to facilitate construction, with access maintained for local residents and businesses whenever possible.
  • We recommend using alternative routes to avoid the project area whenever possible.
• 

  Parking

  Street parking will be removed for periods of time to enable construction, but we will work to limit parking removals as much as possible. Watch for parking restriction signs.

• 

  Walking and cycling

  Walking and cycling access will be retained where possible and detours will be in place. Watch for signage as access points may change.

• 

  Noise and vibration

  The use of heavy equipment will temporarily increase noise levels in the area. Some dust and vibration are to be expected due to the nature of the work.

• 

  Street restoration

  We will implement temporary street restoration measures as work advances from one city block to the next.

  Permanent street restoration will occur throughout the project when the weather is favourable to complete the work.

• 

  Water service impacts

  We will provide advanced notice of any disruption to your water service, except in the case of an emergency.

  Contact us if you experience cloudy water or have concerns related to your drinking water quality
