  Design features

  • Flexible and open design to support a variety of events and layouts
  • Built in seating area and upgraded furniture
  • New trees and plantings, including green rainwater infrastructure
  • Electrical upgrades to support small events, decorative lighting, and more 
  • Separate walking and cycling paths (18th Avenue bikeway)
  • Drinking fountain 
  • Wider sidewalks and bus stop improvements along Cambie Street
  • New concrete plaza surface

How this construction may affect you

  Access to residences and businesses

  • We will maintain access to residences and businesses.
  • To minimize disruptions, we'll coordinate with residents and business owners in advance.
• 

  Parking and traffic impacts

  • We'll maintain 2-way traffic throughout the project.
  • Expect traffic lane closures, parking restrictions, and potential road closures as necessary for construction.
  • Bus service will continue, though some stops may be temporarily relocated.
• 

  Walking and cycling

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained with some temporary detours in effect. 
  • Cycling access will be retained or rerouted as construction activities change. Cyclists may need to dismount.
• 

  Noise and vibration

  The nature of this work will cause noise and dust.

  We will make efforts to minimize noise, particularly during early hours.
