Davie Village upgrades

We're transforming Davie Village between Jervis Street and Thurlow Street to create more space for people and support businesses as downtown Vancouver grows.

The project will widen sidewalks and improve the public space to create more room to walk, gather, and enjoy the neighbourhood for years to come. Review key improvements

The final design (3.2 MB) is based on input from businesses, stakeholders, and the West End community during public engagement in 2023 and 2024.

What's happeningDavie Village upgrades begin September 8, 2026

The project is expected to be complete by spring 2028.

In preparation for the upgrades, City crews will carry out water service work for the first 2 to 3 weeks.

After the water service work is complete, the main construction work will begin. To reduce disruption, initial work will mostly take place on the western block between Bute and Jervis streets. Work will include tree removal and sidewalk and electrical upgrades on the north side of the street.

During construction, temporary traffic changes will be in place. Review how construction may affect you

Local businesses will remain open throughout construction. We encourage everyone to continue visiting and supporting Davie Village businesses.
