Construction crews and equipment working on East 35th Avenue to upgrade sewer infrastructure in a residential neighbourhood.

East 35th Avenue sewer separation upgrades

We’re upgrading critical sewer infrastructure along East 35th Avenue between Main Street and Quebec Street.

The existing sewer will be replaced with a separated, higher-capacity system with one pipe for rainwater runoff and another for sewage. The new sewer main will have a 100-year service life to support this growing neighbourhood.

As part of this work, we'll also be completing some curb replacements and street repaving.

What's happeningProject updates

In late Winter 2025, crews will carry out approximately 3 days of investigative and layout, as well as tree trimming, work on E 35th Avenue before construction begins.

Work begins on E 35th Ave in early 2026

We'll be upgrading sewer infrastructure between Quebec Street and Main Street starting in the new year.

As work progresses, expect:

  • Road closure on E 35th Street between Main Street and Quebec Street. Access to Quebec Street will remain open.
  • Pedestrian detours
  • Parking restrictions

We’ll maintain access to residences.
