The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation has upgraded the historic China Creek South skatepark following recommendations outlined in the approved Skateboard Amenities Strategy.
The upgraded skatepark improves rider experience, accommodates a range of user abilities, allows simultaneous use, supports growth and density, and better serves the community.
What's happeningConstruction completed and skatepark re-opened for public use in early October 2024
The upgrades include:
- Preserving and enhancing the existing heritage bowl features
- Replacing the existing asphalt paving with cast-in-place concrete surfacing
- Adding cast-in-place features that complement and enhance the existing bowls
- Integrating the landscape
- Creating seating opportunities
