VanDusen presents: Spring Strings

• A limited number of tickets are available. Book your ticket in advance if you would like to attend the concert.
• Tickets are sold online.
• A Spring Strings ticket includes garden admission for the day. Guests may arrive early or stay after the concert to enjoy the Garden. The Garden closes at 6pm in May.
• All tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
• Tickets must be presented on a mobile device or printed out for scanning upon entry.
• Garden members must present their valid membership card at the entry point with their ticket.

Leisure Access Program (LAP) rate

• To visit Spring Strings under the Leisure Access Program (LAP) rate, call the VanDusen admission desk at 604-257-8463 with your valid LAP card details. Staff will provide a unique code to book tickets at the discounted rate. 

Coupons, discounts, admission vouchers, and passes

• Coupons, discount offers, and admission vouchers or passes are not valid for special events, including VanDusen Spring Strings. This includes the Tourism Challenge Privilege Pass, complimentary and gift passes (green and blue), and third-party ticket vouchers (Viator, Expedia, VanPass, Tiqets).

Garden members

• A Garden member rate is available only for those with valid memberships. Members must present their valid membership at the point of entry.
• The member rate does not apply to member's guests.

Attendants of those needing assistance

• Required attendants of those needing assistance at the event are offered free access. You do not need to purchase a ticket for them. You may purchase your own ticket online, and let our staff members know your attendant is accompanying you when you present your ticket for scanning.

Ticket disclaimer

Tickets cannot be exchanged, are non-refundable, and cannot be re-sold. Tickets obtained from sources other than our website may be lost, stolen, or counterfeit, and if so, are void.

If in our sole discretion, we determine that a person is re-selling any ticket(s), we reserve the right to revoke and cancel the order and the related ticket(s) and will not permit any future purchases by that person or any affiliated person. We reserve the right, without compensation or refund of any amount paid, to revoke tickets, refuse admission, or dismiss, any person whose conduct management deems disorderly or fails to comply with policies or rules and regulations of the venue.

• Capacity is limited. Book tickets online in advance.
• Formal seating is not provided. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or low chairs for the concert. Those who bring full-sized chairs will be seated at the top of the hill.
• Doors open one hour before each designated show time – 11am for the noon show, 2:30pm for the 3:30pm show. Guests cannot reserve seating before this. A preferred seating area on the lower lawn is reserved for ticket holders, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Plan to arrive early to find a spot on the lawn. The performances will begin promptly at the scheduled start time. 
• There will be a short intermission for each show.
• Each shows features the same setlist. Choose the time that best fits your schedule.
• Picnics are welcome. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from:

  • Uno Gelato
• Alcohol is not permitted. 
• The event entrance is located at the west end of the VanDusen Botanical Garden parking lot.
• Costumes and Regency-era attire are encouraged.
• This event is outdoors and runs rain or shine. Dress accordingly.

Washrooms

Portable toilets will be available for use within the garden. Full-service washrooms are located in the Visitor Centre.

Parking

Parking can get quite busy, so we recommend taking public transit, walking, or biking. We’re located on the #17 Oak bus route and a 15-minute walk from the Oakridge Canada Line station.

Parking is free in our lot off West 37th Avenue but spaces are limited. Free street parking is also available in the surrounding area (where street signs permit).

Weather

Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes as the event is outdoors in the garden. Rain or shine the show will go on. In cases of extraordinary weather conditions, check our social media channels for updates. All attendees would be contacted directly should the event be cancelled.

Accessibility

All paths are paved and fully accessible for wheelchairs. Kindly note that the concert will take place on the lower bowl of the Great Lawn, which does have sloping. There will be a designated seating area for those with accessibility needs.

All portable toilets will be fully accessible for those in a wheelchair.

Wheelchairs are not available for borrow at this time. 

Pets

Working guide and service dogs are welcome. Leave pets at home.

Other considerations

No smoking or vaping of any kind is permitted in the garden.

Bicycles, scooters, and skateboards are not permitted in the garden.

Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.
