Re-opening during COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

We're re-opening with a series of new guidelines to allow the community to safely enjoy the conservatory.

If you're feeling sick, particularly if you're experiencing flu-like symptoms, please stay home.

Booking tickets

Tickets are only available for purchase online at designated times to manage capacity and to limit contact upon entry.

We are not allowing visitors to use passes for conservatory entry.

A service fee of $1 will be added to each ticket for non-members. This fee allows us to offer ticketing from an online platform to ensure that we can manage capacity and provide our visitors with the safest, touch-free experience.

After thoughtful planning and consideration, we have decided to reopen the conservatory under a series of new operational measures which allow the community to safely enjoy the birds and plant life at Bloedel. Like our parks, we recognize the positive impact nature has on the mental well-being of our community members.

Planning a visit

Visitors and members are required to purchase a ticket online for a designated time slot.

Hours of operation

We're open from 11am to 5:45pm daily, with time slots available every hour on the hour. Each time slot is for a 45-minute period. The last time slot is 5pm to 5:45pm.

If you require an attendant

You do not need to purchase a ticket for your attendant. Purchase your own ticket online and let our staff members know your attendant is accompanying you when you present your ticket for scanning.

Leisure Access Pass (LAP) holders

If you would like to purchase a ticket to the conservatory under the LAP rate, call 604-257-8666 between Monday through Friday, between 10am and 5pm. Our staff will be able to assist you with the booking process.

Changes to time slots

  • Missed time slot: you will not be permitted into the conservatory and must reserve a different time slot with spaces available. A ticket service fee may apply.
  • Conservatory closure: you will be contacted by TicketZone and will be allowed to exchange your ticket for another date or time.
  • Rescheduling day or time: contact TicketZone directly at A service fee may apply.

Visiting the conservatory

Visitors must arrive on time to have access to the conservatory for their full 45-minute booking period. The  conservatory will be cleared out at the end of each 45-minute time slot so our staff can sanitize high touch-points areas and monitor a safe capacity.

We encourage you to present your ticket on a mobile device, but printed tickets are accepted.

Affected activities and events

  • Parking lots: paid parking lots in Queen Elizabeth Park are open. If you are not able to maintain a 2-metre distance from others when exiting your vehicle, wait inside until it is safe to get out
  • Memberships will not be sold on site
  • The 5-visit pass is not available for purchase or redemption at this time
  • Events, meetings, and educational programs are cancelled until further notice
  • Rental viewings, elopements and small weddings, engagement photos, or other photo shoots are not permitted at this time. Email for more information.
  • The pathway around the conservatory will be one-way only
  • The gift shop is closed

Physical distancing from others

  • Everyone is required to keep a 2-metre distance from others outside their household at all times
  • Signs throughout the conservatory will remind visitors to physically distance
  • Markers placed on the ground to show 2-metre spacing at each queue
  • Stanchions set up to ensure safe entry and exit of visitors through the conservatory
  • No wheelchairs available to borrow
  • All regular conservatory rules apply including:
    • No pets other than certified BC guide dogs
    • No food or drinks
    • No external plant life
    • No selfie sticks

Cleaning and washrooms

  • The conservatory washrooms, high-touch points, and ticketing huts will be cleaned thoroughly throughout the day

We are not recruiting volunteers at this time. Only a limited number of Park Board staff will be working on site.
