Sunset Beach

Located at the mouth of False Creek, on Beach Ave between Bute St and Thurlow St, Sunset Beach is a less populated beach close to the West End and downtown Vancouver. It is close to the Vancouver Aquatic Centre and has access to the False Creek Ferry pier.

COVID-19 update: beaches

Lifeguards will patrol and supervise designated swimming areas at ten beaches: English Bay, Jericho, Kitsilano, Locarno, Spanish Banks East and West, Sunset, Second, Third, and Trout Lake.

Patrolled swimming areas will be marked by red and yellow coloured flags from 11:30am to 8pm every day throughout the season.

Parking​​

  • No general parking available beginning May 21, 2021
  • General parking is available at the Jervis parking lot at Jervis St and Beach Ave
  • Parking is reserved for accessible parking (five stalls) and reserved parking for concessions staff, lifeguards, and the EV charging station
