Bike entrance to Kent Ave Greenway

Kent Avenue Greenway

We’re planning to make it safer and easier to walk, bike, and roll on Kent Avenue.

The project will happen in phases. Design changes will aim to:

  • Provide an all ages and abilities (AAA) cycling route. This will close a gap in the city’s active transportation network.
  • Connect South Vancouver neighbourhoods to Richmond using the Canada Line Bridge and to Burnaby through the River District.
  • Increase safety and comfort for greenway users. This includes people who walk, bike, or roll on it regularly, as well as those who live or work nearby.

What's happeningPhase 1 implementation

The Phase 1 design (Argyle Street to Elliott Street) was finalized in February 2026 based on feedback from the community and Council’s direction.

  • A painted crosswalk and curb bulge at Elliott St and E Kent Avenue North
  • New speed humps, updated road markings, and traffic signs along the route
