Downtown-Eastside / Oppenheimer District zoning amendments

We are proposing amendments to the zoning for the Downtown-Eastside/Oppenheimer District. The amendments will aid projects that support social housing, local economic development, and community health and wellbeing. The proposed amendments will:

  • Increase the maximum floor-space ratio (FSR) for uses that support local economic development or community health and well-being (with the remaining floor area for 60% social housing and 40% secured market rental housing)
  • Allow relaxations to the maximum frontage for new developments that provide 100% social housing
