Open houses on new park and updated Oakridge Centre Design
November 22, 2017 – The Vancouver Parks Board and QuadReal and Westbank are hosting open houses to present design concepts for the new park and updated designs for the Oakridge Centre. Join us.

Rezoning of Oakridge approved in principle
March 14, 2014 – Council approved in principle the rezoning of Oakridge Centre. Staff and the applicant are now working through the conditions of approval. Once all enactment conditions have been met, the bylaw will be passed and construction can begin. Check back for updates on this page in the fall.
Public hearing continues
March 2014 – The public hearing for the Oakridge Centre redevelopment continues on March 14, 2014, and will continue with speaker number 115.
The Transportation Study is available in the Documents tab, as mentioned by staff to Council on March 11, 2014. Refer to the transportation assessment in the documents tab for more information.
Policy report goes to Council
February 14, 2014 – The policy report on the proposed Oakridge Centre redevelopment will be reviewed by Council on February 18, 2014 for the sole purpose of determining whether the report should proceed to a public hearing, and requesting additional information to be provided for the public hearing. The report details and analyzes the rezoning proposal and provides recommendations to Council.

Open houses on revised proposal
September 23, 2013 – The City has received a revised rezoning application for Oakridge Centre. The proposal is for a mixed-use redevelopment of Oakridge Centre which includes:
- Doubling the size of the mall to 1.4 million square feet
- 2,916 residential units
- 300,000 square feet of new office space
- A 70,000-square-foot civic centre (community centre, library, seniors centre and childcare space)
- Rooftop open space
- A range of building heights between six and 45 storeys
This is a revised proposal based on comments received from the community and City staff.

Draft retail impact assessment available for review
June 26, 2013 – In reviewing the redevelopment proposal, we commissioned Site Economics and Coriolis Consulting to complete a Retail Impact Assessment on Oakridge Centre and any possible impacts on adjacent business improvement areas (BIAs). The consultants presented their findings to adjacent BIAs in a meeting at City Hall.
Issues and Directions report now online
May 29, 2013 – On May 29th staff presented the Oakridge Centre Rezoning Issues and Directions report to Council. The report asked for direction on many high level questions, which will be used to guide further processing of the rezoning application.

Questionnaire on proposal areas
April 17, 2013 – Through our open houses and questionnaire last fall, we heard initial thoughts on the Oakridge Centre redevelopment application.
Now, we want to delve deeper into some of the application's key aspects. Help the City further evaluate the proposal by taking an in-depth questionnaire and let us know what you think about the proposed public spaces, community amenities, housing, transportation and buildings.
Your input will help shape the future of Oakridge Centre. The information collected will be reported to Council in an issues report at the end of May.

Great participation at open houses
December 18, 2012 – We had over 1,400 people visit us at our open houses in November, and received over 250 questionnaire submissions by paper or online. Thank you to all who participated.

Rezoning application submitted
October 15, 2012 – Ivanhoe Cambridge and Westbank submitted a rezoning application to the City to initiate the rezoning process for Oakridge Centre. Details from the application are now available online.
Planning program approved by Council
July 25, 2012 – Council approved a planning program to consider redevelopment proposals for Oakridge Centre that vary from the Oakridge Centre Policy Statement.
