Bute-Robson Plaza construction

We’re building a permanent Bute-Robson Plaza to create a welcoming and vibrant public space that can support community connections and activations for years to come. We are also extending the plaza feel onto Robson Street by widening the sidewalks for more space to stroll and raising the intersection to prioritize walking and rolling.

The work area will be on Bute Street between Haro Street and Eihu Lane, and along the adjacent blocks on Robson Street east and west of the intersection.

We based the design of the plaza and public enhancement features on input from businesses, stakeholders and the West End community during Bute Greenway engagement.

What's happeningDecember 2025: Construction is now complete

The permanent Bute-Robson Plaza is now open.

Thank you for your patience during construction. We’ll be back in the spring to complete finishing touches, including weather proofing.
